Summary:

We're looking for an Access Deployment Manager to help us execute on our vision of connecting the world. You will help extend the reach and accelerate the expansion of wireless broadband networks in emerging markets by developing rural-optimized planning and deployment playbooks and reference architecture designs using alternative technology and by working closely with network operators and internal product and technology teams to plan and execute network upgrade and expansion projects from field and market trials to scale deployments. The position is based in MPK.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop rural-optimized planning and deployment playbooks and reference architecture designs using alternative technology to extend the reach and accelerate the expansion of broadband wireless networks to connect the un(der)-connected.

  2. Work closely with wireless network operators, infrastructure providers and internal product and technology teams to plan and execute network upgrade and expansion projects from field and market trials to scale deployments.

  3. Collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define technical requirements and plan and execute technology pilots and deployments.

  4. Collaborate with internal program managers to develop business plans and financial models by providing technical and operational inputs, analyzing network and technology coverage and validating model outputs.

  5. Collaborate with regional program managers and business development teams to structure and negotiate agreements with network operators to deploy new tech and network infrastructure from pilots to scale networks.

  6. Team up with partners and internal regional program and project managers to ensure projects are delivered and connectivity goals are realized against aggressive timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience developing and executing wireless network infrastructure strategies, solutions and deployment plans.

  2. Knowledge of wireless access industry, technology (2G/3G/4G/5G) and deployment challenges and opportunities in rural, emerging markets.

  3. Experience in planning and executing network technology and infrastructure deployment programs with partners.

  4. Experience interfacing with multiple wireless access industry entities simultaneously, including operators, OEMs, suppliers, etc.

  5. Knowledge in capital cost structures and metrics for wireless network deployment activities, services and equipment/materials (towers, RAN, backhaul and power).

  6. Knowledge in operational cost structures and metrics for wireless access networks using 2G/3G/4G technologies, fiber/microwave backhaul.

  7. Experience performing data analysis and modeling of network and technology coverage, location of population, connectivity to backhaul nodes, determination of power sources, accessibility to tower locations, etc.

  8. Communication, interpersonal and collaboration experience.

  9. BA/BS or higher in an Engineering field or equivalent degree/experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA.

  2. Experience structuring, negotiating and/or managing complex commercial contracts.

  3. Experience supporting the development of business plans and financial models.

  4. Experience interfacing with product development and technology teams to define product or solution requirements.
