Facebook Technical Program Manager, Platform SW in Los Angeles, California

Summary:

The Oculus Store team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to work on front end and backend components of the application store. This includes Gear VR, Oculus Go, and Rift - in 2D as well as VR. As the Store TPM, you will play a key role in defining and driving highly complex, cross-functional features across internal and external teams. You will partner with the Product Management, Engineering teams (front and back end), data scientists and designers to scope requirements and drive implementation of the application store. The ideal candidate is energized by having impact, is passionate about high-quality user interfaces, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop project schedules based on product requirements, technical challenges, and business needs.

  2. Manage communication within and between cross-functional teams.

  3. Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.

  4. Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment.

  5. Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans.

  6. Ensure project documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.

  7. Engage with cross-functional teams to identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues, and to deliver software features.

  8. Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.

  9. Up to 15% travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  2. 3+ years experience as a program manager working in a cross-functional software development environment.

  3. Software experience in a development and deployment of at-scale web-applications used around the globe.

  4. Experience with HTML5, React, CSS and JavaScript technologies.

  5. Knowledge of software development processes and best practices.

  6. Experience with project and issue tracking systems.

  7. Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
