Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Lead Counsel on the Commercial Legal team for Mobile, AI and Connectivity. This full-time position will work primarily with Facebook Connectivity and potentially other teams across the company. The ideal candidate will be diligent and proactive, and has demonstrated excellent legal and business judgement, technical acumen and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally. Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements including software licensing, evaluation, OEM/ODM agreements, hardware commodity purchasing, maintenance, cooperative development, professional services and other agreements for Facebook Connectivity
Assume primary responsibility for all legal issues related to these contracts, including risk management
Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners and vendors
Collaborate with IP counsel, compliance counsel, and other counsel and groups to ensure that identified risk is managed, and business models are appropriately established
Primary responsibility for resolution of legal issues that arise in our commercial relationships
Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the Commercial Legal team and its processes
Counsel Facebook Connectivity on above areas including strategy, planning and operational efficiency for commercial transactions
Potentially manage and direct outside counsel
JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
5+ years of commercial transactions experience, including experience with Internet business and legal issues
Technology experience (software licensing, product development, intellectual property, etc.)
Drafting and negotiation along with business judgment and strategic thinking experience
Experience in the connectivity, aerospace, or mobile industries
Experience supporting a sourcing/procurement organization
Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
Interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality
