Instagram is looking for a dynamic, team-oriented addition to its global public policy team. The successful candidate will help to drive and deliver Instagram's policy strategy in the EMEA region by demonstrating the value of our platform to policy makers and key influencers. The successful candidate will work on some of the most interesting public policy challenges of our times, including how young people engage with the online space, privacy, safety and freedom of expression.

We are looking for candidates with a passion for advancing a company's objectives within a dynamic and complex policy environment. They should have experience working with senior internal stakeholders, expertise navigating policy and political environments and be comfortable managing multiple fast-moving, and high-priority projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be creative, resourceful and a true team player.

This position is full-time and will be located in Facebook’s offices in London.

Required Skills:

  1. Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues affecting Instagram in key markets across the EMEA region and identify proactive strategies

  2. Articulate our positions on these policy issues in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings

  3. Work in partnership with local Public Policy team on the strategy for building relationships with policy makers, civil society and academics

  4. Represent Instagram in meetings with key external stakeholders

  5. Communicate Instagram's positions in public presentations across the region

  6. Work with cross functional teams across Facebook and Instagram, including legal, product and communications

  7. Help to manage urgent escalations and enquiries on Instagram policy issues

  8. Advise Instagram and Facebook teams on public policy matters to guide development of products, services and policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of professional experience

  2. Policy and/or public affairs experience

  3. Demonstrated advocacy experience and skills

  4. Familiarity with working with politicians and government officials including those at the most senior levels

  5. Ability to work autonomously and to work with cross-functional teams from a wide range of disciplines

  6. A flexible mindset that thrives in a fast-moving environment and high-growth environment

  7. Interest in technology and related policy issues

  8. Willingness to travel

  9. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

  10. Fluency in German or French required
