Job Description


We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented DevSecOps Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC. As members of the Operations team, DevOps Engineers work closely with development, test, analysis, and project management team members to understand the requirements that drive the design of quality technical solutions. The function of the DevOps team is to champion the collaboration and communication between development, test, and IT operations resources; to establish a culture where building, testing, and releasing software happens rapidly and frequently with minimal re-work; and to provision an accelerated evolution of the application, which is process improvement driven and utilizes metrics to increase efficiency of the software development lifecycle. Providing advisory services to support delivery programs including hands-on full stack engineering development on projects, coaching and helping delivery teams to adapt this a part of their development life cycle. Understanding of the DevOps tooling landscape and has experience integrating various DevOps tools together to provide end to end application lifecycle management. Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyzing application for data integrity issues. Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results. Individual will serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project and may mentor less experienced technical staff. Usage of high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process. Development of automated solutions to monitor and support our software development and release processes.Roles and Responsibilities:
• Embed security control design, implementation and testing into DevOps practices
• Drive systems engineering design and recovery by minimizing manual involvement and leading continuous improvements that create an operating environment that includes dynamically monitoring, alerting, and automated self-healing and recovery
• Actively participate in Agile, Kanban and Scrum activities
• Development & Unit Test tools: Eclipse, git, Docker, JUnit, SonarQube, Contrast (or Fortify)
• Deploy Tools: Atlassian Jira, Chef (or Maven), Jenkins,
• Test tools: Selenium, Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, Cucumber
• Operate tools: New Relic, Atlassian HipChat, Atlassian Jira


Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and 9 years experience or equivalent 
• Experience working on agile teams to deliver software development and technology transformation projects
• Experience with Java architecture, design and development, and Spring and Hibernate or equivalent
• Experience with services, including middle tier, microservices, or Web services design, development, and operations
• Experience with Web APIs, including RESTful or JSON design, development, and operations
• Experience with Cloud computing and open source solutions
• Experience with DevOps and delivery pipelines
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL technologies
• Knowledge of Java environments, Java Application Server administration and JVM tuning
• Advanced Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems and Administration
• Advanced knowledge of application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
• OSS security scanning tools such as OWASP API's a plus.
• Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (At least one per category desired):
• Entire Microsoft Team Foundation Server suite
• Agile Project Management (eg. Jira, Confluence, VersionOne, Rally)
• Build automation (e.g. Maven, Gradle, Ant)
• Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo)
• Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter)
• Code quality tools (e.g. Sonar, Cast, Coverity)
• Static scanning (Contrast, Veracode, Fortify)
• Deployment automation (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
• Source Code Configuration Management repository (GitHub, BitBucket)
• Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
• ChatOps (HipChat, VictorOps, PagerDuty, Slack)
• Application Performance Monitoring (eg New Relic, AppDynamics, DynaTrace)
• Application platforms (OpenShift, Cloud)
• Container/scheduler platforms such as docker, docker enterprise edition, mesosphere, kubernetes or AWS BloxMust be a US CitizenMust posses active Secret Clearance
