Description: The RMS Value Engineering (VE) team is a collaboration between Supply Chain, Engineering & Technology and other functional organizations to identify cost reduction opportunities for RMS programs across all Lines of Business (LOB). The RMS VE team is looking for a Project Lead to support the various LOBs in driving cost reductions to achieve or exceed program and/or LOB affordability goals. The Project Lead will work within or across LOBs [and in some cases with other Business Areas] to identify cost reduction solutions and opportunities and establish business cases to drive data-backed decisions to invest/proceed, or seek alternative solutions to the cost challenges. The Procurement Engineer/Project Lead's duties will include:
-Coordination within Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Sustainment, Design Engineering, the Supply Base and Industry experts to facilitate affordable solutions in support of RMS Accelerating Affordability Transformation (AAT) efforts
-Analysis of technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and financial / cost data to position RMS toward achieving the best lowest cost solution for our upcoming negotiations/captures;
-Development of business cases using VE tools including the Affordability Project Tracker to perform data backed trade-off analysis on cost reduction opportunities
-Facilitation and organization of VE/cost reduction workshops for programs, markets or products;
-Encourage and support design optimization, part or requirement standardization wherever feasible to reduce cost
-Advocate for competitive sourcing via dual, or multi-sourcing of products;
-Collaboration with RMS Supply Chain Better Buying and Data Analytics teams to gather and leverage additional intelligence and insights to support cost reduction activities.
-Travel will be required.
-Individual will also be assigned to other priorities which may arise for the RMS Business Area.

-Engineering degree in engineering/technical discipline
-Supply chain, manufacturing and /or Engineering & Technology functional experience
-proven skills and accomplishments in achieving aggressive saving targets
-Ability to lead project teams and to be an effective team player
-Strong communication and listening skills; ability to establish new relationships
-Sound financial knowledge for creating business cases and to evaluate cost
-Effective presentation and proficient public speaking skills
-Ability to present to senior leaders
-Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources and develop concrete solutions or plans
-Ability and willingness to engage with new or unfamiliar parties from across RMS LOBs, Programs and Functions to drive project results
-Strong organizational skills to handle many overlapping projects simultaneously

analysis to prove/disprove key hypotheses for
affordability. Be bold and open with your counter
offer to suppliers when the data calls for it.
Desired Skills:
-OLDP or ELDP graduate
-Master's in Business and/or Engineering
-Previous leadership assignments/skills
-Familiarity with Accelerating Affordability Transformation processes and tools
-Proven ability to pursue, justify and drive change
-Process improvement / lean experience
-Lean/six sigma certification
-Experience facilitating groups in workshops, SIAs and related events
