  • Design, install, configure, manage and support company wide databases
  • Provide support to ensure that the systems works reliably and quickly
  • Build databases and scripts for specific applications and user needs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the IT team, users and other administrators
  • Collaborate with the IT team and business partners to answer technical questions or resolve issues with database performance and access
  • Conduct system maintenance activities including reviewing error logs and user-reported errors. Perform root cause analysis and develop remediation plans
  • Proactively monitor system health to reduce interruptions and server crashes including transaction logs and disk space usage
  • Manage database backups and restores
  • Maintain system security by preventing faults and vulnerabilities within the database architecture including patching as needed. Understands best practices and techniques to maintain and enhance security
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the testing of new software or modified applications
  • Operate with a continuous improvement mentality
  • Flexible and willing to work on multiple projects and is able to balance changing priorities or demands
  • Ability to adjust work schedule when project demands or system issues arise
  • Adhere to IT policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
  • Leverage the IT Service Management System (ticketing system) to manage and control work assignments (use workflow as needed) and ensure requests and/or reported issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Adhere to change management policies and procedures
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Qualifications


  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent understanding of the following technologies: MS SQL 2014+, SSRS, SSDT, SSAS, Oracle, Informix, Vulnerability, Security, Patch Management, Database Monitoring tools, Windows OS, Linux and Unix
  • Excellent knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and XML database management systems
  • Working knowledge of Citrix, MS Exchange, MongoDB, Active Directory, DNS, GPOs and File Shares
  • Experience handling requirements related to the Data Privacy Act
  • Solid understanding of establishing appropriate and database access control levels
  • Solid understanding of failover clustering, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies
  • Proficient in setting up high-availability systems as part of a disaster recovery strategy for the databases
  • Familiar with database design, documentation and coding
  • Familiar with Cloud based infrastructure and solutions (AWS)
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, management and others outside the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Utilize Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts and other IT best practices
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adherence to the following core values: integrity, respect, innovation and drive
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment

  • Effective time management skills
  • 6+ years’ experience as a Database Administrator
  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
