Part of Integration Practice in Professional Services Division, the Omni Architect provides expertise to our clients in Data Management implementation using Information Builder’s Omni-Gen Data Management Platform. This role is vital in the development of data strategy with respect to life cycle management, governance, stewardship, enterprise metadata and security. He/she will develop business, logical and technical data architectures, including data models, data quality plans and functional data processes as well as assist in milestone planning and project execution. Expertise in translating business requirements into sound technical design is paramount. He/she must be able to supervise other project team members as well as mentor clients and fellow team members in data management principles and best practices. He/she may also participate in pre-sales activities as required, such as proposal development and presentations. Responsibilities Provide Data Management leadership and expertise to our clients Provide Omni-Gen implementation expertise to our clients Define Data Management Life Cycle management strategy and processes Define and identify reference data and integration strategy Define enterprise metadata strategy including administration and lineage. Develop Data Management strategy and processes supporting data governance, stewardship and security Provide data profiling expertise including techniques and best practices Define and develop data validation, verification and reconciliation strategies. Develop logical and physical data models Optimize models with respect to data usage, propagation and migration requirements Acquire working knowledge of Information Builders Omni-Gen Data Management Platform, iWay technologies including iWay Service Manager and iWay DataMigrator.
Qualifications Strong background in data management, data quality, data mapping, and data structures. Strong logical and physical modeling and database design skills Strong business requirements gathering/analysis skills Expert in normalization, de-normalization, data rationalization, and optimization techniques Experience with XML (XML) and XML Schemas (XSD). Working knowledge J2EE platform/development Experience with UML modeling and design, including: use case, class, sequence models and diagrams. Experience with ETL and other types of high-volume data movement, data replication, data transformation and data integration. Experience with Data Quality/Master Data Management best practices Familiarity with Data Governance and Data Stewardship best practices Familiarity with service-oriented architectures Experience managing BI, DW or DM teams very desirable Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent problem solving skills Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field Advanced degree very desirable 8 years practical experience in data management, database design and related disciplines Varied experience in a consultative role Vertical experience (Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, Manufacturing, Government, Law Enforcement)
