The Lean Manager is responsible for implementing the Flintco Lean program and managing the Internal and External Quality of operational excellence objectives for projects managed out of their assigned office or designated area. Anticipated travel is up to 50%.
General Duties and Responsibilities Mentors and assists project staff in Lean activities, implementation and maintenance of Lean practices Facilitates planning meetings for various building systems, trade partners and other project stakeholders. Provide onboarding and coaching to project teams for standard and elective Lean construction practices, including production planning and scheduling systems and tools Assists operations staff in development of project specific elective Lean practices Interacts with trade partners, architects and engineers on behalf of project staff regarding technical issues, specification requirements, inspection methods and scheduling. Serves as onsite Lean Champion for single project or multiple projects as needed. Manages execution of Project Performance Review program in accordance with policy. Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and corrective/preventative actions are taken to assure continuous process improvement. Able to apply PDCA cycle and create process/value stream maps to variety of operational and business processes Ensure that assessment reports, proposals, inspections reports and information required are properly prepared and reported. Also verifies that select routine company administrative policies are followed. Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements. Assists other Flintco offices with technical support in area of expertise, including presentation and training. Potential exists to manage direct reports.

Practical experience using construction-specific Lean practices is essential. Advise management on implementation and effectiveness of Lean tools Accurately track status of multiple projects and helps management prioritize effort Communicates and teams with peers, supervisors and managers on assignments Stop work if necessary, to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work Passion for team and people development
Knowledge/Skills/Ability Familiarity with commercial construction market in geographic area Familiarity with commercial and/or industrial construction processes and procedures Experience managing projects from planning through post-completion Experience with data analysis and modeling, and developing performance metrics Perform root-cause analysis and document using A3 reporting Experience with implementing and sustaining multi-trade prefabrication and/or modularization Experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement and/or process improvement; Agile or Lean Six Sigma
Bachelor’s degree in a Construction related discipline, Business Administration, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
