Systems Support Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time
This position will design, test, implement, document, maintain, monitor, optimize and ensure the expandability of customer networks. The candidate will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of network equipment such as Dell and Lenovo servers, SANs, routers, switches, firewalls and related equipment, as well as working directly with customers to design, implement and diagnose a great variety of technical issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications, as well as virtual environments built on VMware, Microsoft and Citrix.
Design, Implementation, & Support services for Microsoft related technologies (Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.)
Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration
Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
System documentation & consulting services to include network assessments and recommendations
Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations, as needed
Participate in 24X7 on-call rotation
