Designing, constructing, operating and continually innovating the telecommunications and structured cabling infrastructure within our data centers is fundamental to ensuring high availability, the capacity to meet our extreme growth demands and obtaining the most robust and cost effective online service in the world!

Facebook is seeking an experienced individual to join our Data Center Construction team as a Project Controls Specialist. In this role you will work closely with our global construction teams and various internal departments, including Data Center Analytics, Procurement and Finance to support all aspects of project cost management and financial forecasting for Facebook’s growing Data Center Construction team. Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills are a must in this highly collaborative role. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience managing and analyzing cost in large, multi-project construction programs. Depending on the skills and work experience of the candidate, the trajectory of the position can evolve into a controls manager role, which broadens the reach to influence the way we think about and manage construction schedule and development risk.

This position is full-time and located in our Dublin International Headquarters. However, the project locations will be spread across EMEA. Managing stakeholders located across all these regions and time zones is a significant challenge and is key to the success of the projects.

Required Skills:

  1. Support Facebook Project Controls Manager who manages data center retrofits, misc. technical construction projects and other non-standard infrastructure construction projects.

  2. For the EMEA Region manage project cost and schedule, including budget, forecast, commitments, accruals, Work-In-Place, milestones, WBS, progress, risks, contingency, and KPIs.

  3. Utilize and maintain historical cost databases (eBuilder or similar) through input of budgets, commitments, work in place, invoices, and forecasts

  4. Provide monthly project status report (cost, schedule) along with analysis of yearly, quarterly and monthly forecast vs the actual work achieved.

  5. Conduct accrual analysis and coordinate with payment processing teams to track the status of vendor payments

  6. Execute the project completion close out process, including closing contracts, and reconciling cost performance against baseline.

  7. Manage the project change control process and maintain the schedule baseline and current budget to reflect approved changes

  8. Working with general contractors, consultants and vendors on a monthly basis to review and report on spend projections, actual payments, projected final accounts and interim reporting.

  9. Train others in the use of our systems (E-Builder, Oracle, Primavera P6, etc.).

  10. Supervise third party cost management and quantity surveying companies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration or equivalent technical degree

  2. Minimum of (5) years direct professional experience in managing costs and vendor contracts for large multi-project construction or development programs (preferably across the Europe)

  3. Experience in database administration, data entry, or data analysis.

  4. Hands-on experience analyzing cost & schedule data and reporting results to management.

  5. Familiar with construction industry terms and procedures.

  6. Experience in data center or other mission critical retrofit projects is preferable.

  7. Must be familiar with Primavera P6 or MS Excel or PowerPoint

  8. Must be familiar with cost control tooling (such as eBuilder, Ecosys, Cobra, Aconex, Unifier, or others)

  9. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on the financial status of multiple construction sites to construction managers
