As a Technical Program Manager in the Infrastructure Engineering team you will play a key role defining and driving impactful engineering projects that span the organization. The Data Center and Network TPM team works on programs that help Facebook navigate massive growth and future product needs. These programs help us deliver data center and network capacity and redundancy, and building foundational tooling for automation in all these areas.

This is a role that builds breadth across Facebook's business application services and physical infrastructure. You will play a key role in defining product features and roadmaps in the automation and tooling space.

Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. Facebook's infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need technical program managers that can do the same.

Required Skills:

  1. Work in a very fast-paced and iterative technical environment with engineering leaders across software, data center, and network teams

  2. Identify and define requirements for building automation and workflow tooling engines to enable demand modeling and network deployment

  3. Drive product development with a team of software tooling engineers

  4. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and drive strategic decision making

  5. Formulate product requirement documentation (PRD)

  6. Achieve alignment in ambiguous or contentious areas to drive internal product decisions

  7. Create programs to solve these problems by determining goals that align with company initiatives, understand dependencies, define milestones, assess risk and identify resource requirements

  8. Provide hands-on program management during various phases of the program including day-to-day coordination of tasks as well as long term planning

  9. Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors in Process Engineering, Leadership, or equivalent engineering field

  2. 8+ years of network engineering, procurement/deployment, and operations experience

  3. 2+ years of Technical Program/Product Management experience

  4. Experience with communication, interpersonal collaboration and influencing engineers and cross-functional teams

  5. Analytical and problem-solving experience to approach problems from new perspectives

  6. Experience creating visualizations through wireframes and mockups

  7. Experience defining requirements for visualization of data

  8. Experience developing use cases and test scenarios for product features and enhancements

  9. Experience using project management tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in building or managing systems software components ranging from data stores, caching, and key value stores etc.

  2. Proven track record shipping software products from concept to completion

  3. Technical experience with creating and integrating APIs based on best practices

  4. Knowledge of database design ranging from structure, modeling, processing and query optimization

  5. Experience using data and analysis to drive automation and tooling improvements

  6. Experience with service architecture design to understand performance issues, bottlenecks and optimizations
