Required Skills:

  1. The Engineering Operations Manager will manage and drive operations excellence within our research programs. The role will involve coordinating and managing all of the company’s fabrication resources (in-house and external) to deliver working LED module prototypes on-time. The job is particularly suited to a person with a strong technical and operations management experience and a drive to get the job done on time and to target. Engineering Operations Manager will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment.

  2. Managing the human, physical and mechanical resources to ensure all prototype delivery schedules are met

  3. Overseeing the daily activities and priorities to meet the needs and expectations of the researchers and research programs

  4. Manage staff welfare by providing for all their needs

  5. Ensuring a work environment that supports enhanced quality and on-time delivery of prototypes

  6. Initiate and drive operations excellence within the organization

  7. e.g. lean thinking and continuous improvements

  8. Develop Business Management Systems tailored to the needs of the research programs

  9. Responsible for regulatory, health & safety, logistics and IT support infrastructure

  10. Long-term planning and establishment of initiatives aimed at operational excellence

  11. Responsible for laboratory and fabrication resources and equipment – including calibration, up-time, maintenance, supports and facilities

  12. Communicate operations status to stakeholders and various key teams around the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

  2. Strong technical program management experience

  3. Clear communication skills and experience working with highly technical teams

  4. Strong organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment

  5. Ability to motivate and focus a large collaboration to reach challenging goals

  6. Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams

  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exposure to large-scale systems
