Facebook Counterterrorism Research Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Facebook's Information Security organization seeks an experienced counterterrorism analyst to join our Washington, DC-based team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for helping drive our efforts around identifying the latest tools, tactics, and infrastructure used by terrorist actors as they affect Facebook and its ecosystems to better defend against and disrupt these threats. This position will be located in Washington, DC with some expected travel.
Help drive cross-functional and cross-industry initiatives to better understand terrorists and contemporary militant groups and their activity online
Determine the credibility, value, significance, and relevance of information from various data sources
Develop concepts of operations for efficient, scalable information processing and analytical initiatives to support investigators
Utilize technology and data analysis techniques to provide proactive insight
Experience researching and collecting relevant information, conducting analysis, and working collaboratively
Ability to conduct strategic research to develop innovative technical and/or analytic solutions to gather malicious indicators from different sources
Background in counterterrorism or counterintelligence
B.A/B.S., M.A./M.S., or PhD candidate in political science, economics, international relations, counterterrorism, or regional studies
Must have a demonstrated interest in technology
Experience using SQL, scripting in Python and running functions in command line, with other programming languages and technical skills
