Connecting the world takes every one of us—and we're just getting started. Our Risk Investigations team is responsible for managing transactional risk at Facebook. We build, monitor, and analyze key performance metrics, and understand root causes of change. Investigators are responsible for performing quantitative analysis (e.g. data mining and machine learning) to understand how fraud is proliferating on the Facebook platform, and for implementing effective countermeasures. We partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Operations counterparts to implement solutions that scale. This position is based out of our Singapore office.

Required Skills:

  1. Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how fraud is proliferating on the Facebook platform

  2. Become an expert in core risk infrastructure, tools, systems, and data

  3. Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to solve problems at scale

  4. Develop, monitor and analyze product and operational health metrics

  5. Implement effective countermeasures to eliminate fraud based on these identified patterns

  6. Monitor key performance metrics, and understand root causes of change

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Economics or equivalent practical experience

  2. 2+ years doing quantitative analysis, preferably in an adversarial space such as fraud, spam, or ad policy

  3. Experience manipulating large data sets in SQL or equivalent, and drawing actionable insights from data

  4. Experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl) or Haskell a plus

  5. Experience with payments and e-commerce in APAC preferred

  6. Highly motivated and hardworking with ability to think clearly under pressure, both individually and in team environment

  7. A good attitude, drive, passion, and curiosity
