Summary:

Facebook is seeking an experienced agency/sales/marketing leader with demonstrated success managing established and emerging business categories to take on the role of Industry Manager, eCommerce. In the role they will build and manage a strategically focused / consultative sales team of individual contributors, selling Facebook advertising solutions to advertisers and agencies. This person will manage the Facebook monetization of one or more verticals in Canada.  They'll lead a high-caliber team for a business that is experiencing strong growth. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with the ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for their clients and their teams. We are looking for a self-starter who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, managing teams, and being a problem-solving leader with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have management experience in a digital sales or an online media environment as well as extensive experience selling cross-network online marketing solutions such as integrated sponsorships, and display advertising within the industry. This position reports to a Canadian Group Lead, and will manage Client Partners and Client Solutions Managers as direct reports.

Required Skills:

  1. Play the lead role in developing the holistic business of the eCommerce vertical

  2. Builds and mentors a team of Client Partners and Client Solutions Managers

  3. National responsibility for architecting & executing the strategies to build vertical in both developed and undeveloped markets

  4. Work cross-functionally with In-Market teams, Global Regions, Business & Sales Operations, Marketing, Measurement/Metrics, Product Marketing, Creative Shop, Communications,  Media Partnerships and Government Relations to optimize our client efforts

  5. Consults with and influences Product Marketing to help shape product development in support of client needs

  6. Guide the creation of persuasive presentations and stories that demonstrate the value of Facebook to clients for both b2c and b2b marketing

  7. Represent Facebook at industry events

  8. Identify the winning strategies and scale the insights throughout the verticals

  9. Increase the effectiveness of the team by recognizing opportunities for new approaches

  10. Develop and implement best practices for client interaction, sales and services for Facebook, including a good understanding of working with advertisers and agencies

  11. Build, train and maintain a high performing team

  12. Travel as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years marketing and sales experience, and 6+ years in digital media

  2. eCommerce vertical related Advertising/Marketing experience

  3. Experience building advertising campaigns

  4. Experience presenting to C-level executives with an emphasis on translating insights, product information, and data into client value

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of management experience

  2. Ability to effectively lead/provide valuable feedback to both Client Partner and Client Solutions Manager functions

  3. Ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment

  4. Ability to forge relationships with marketing decision makers at brands and agencies

  5. Storyteller with experience communicating the benefit of marketing opportunities to brands

  6. Leadership/management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional teams

  7. Knows the nuts and bolts of their business

  8. operates as a true general manager, rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in strategic, account level planning to drive product adoption and short and long term growth Able to identify, prioritize and focus team on most impactful opportunities

  9. Ensures the team is executing on the brilliant basics by balancing deep involvement and leading from behind

  10. Accurate goaling and forecasting to reach and exceed sales quotas

  11. Motivates and empowers with optimism and is creative in problem solving

  12. Understanding of digital advertising technology and data/performance measurement trends

  13. Demonstrated experience using advertising data to craft media strategy

  14. Experience building advertising campaigns

  15. Facebook user with knowledge of the media landscape, reseller channels and vertical markets

  16. Champion of FB culture to team and office
