PhD and research recruiting is a core strategic driver of Facebook’s success. We have a world-class team working together to help drive our ambitions and scale to the next level. We're seeking a dynamic recruiter who brings a balance of creativity, focus, and determination to join in this mission by supporting our research recruiting efforts. As a PhD and postdoctoral recruiter, you will also be responsible for hiring world-class groups of people capable of furthering many of our research areas. We’re passionate about delivering an awesome candidate experience at each stage of the conversation by lending genuine insight into the company, mission and challenges. Your work will have a direct impact on the team, culture, and identity of Facebook.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for PhD and postdoctoral candidates with a focus on strong hiring manager partnership and candidate advocacy

  2. Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns

  3. Partner closely with other PhD recruiters to ensure smooth candidate transition and consistent candidate experience

  4. Find, engage and activate passive candidates

  5. Collaborate with client groups and hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and goals

  6. Drive offer process - including extending offers, closing candidates, and generating offer letters

  7. Facilitate interview and hiring discussions with interviewers and hiring managers

  8. Regularly track pipeline, priorities and performance data to share with internal stakeholders

  9. Recommend and drive improvements that impact PhD pipeline areas and the recruiting organization

  10. Partner with Academic Relations team to leverage and build relationships resulting in candidate pipelines

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree with 4+ years of technical recruiting experience

  2. Experience recruiting for skill sets in the software field

  3. 2+ years of technical research/sourcing experience, including the use of Boolean and alternative search techniques

  4. Tech and industry knowledge with ability to understand tech skills, research conferences, academic labs, and communities

  5. Consultative and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and network within the industry

  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  7. Organizational skills and attention to detail

  8. Ability to travel during peak recruiting cycles

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with recruiting PhDs and researchers

  2. Willingness to work flexible hours
