Facebook is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its tax team responsible for managing LatAm indirect tax matters. The position will be based in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will work closely with members of US and LatAm tax team, LatAm Accounting and other Finance functions across the company. The position will be reporting into our Director of Tax based in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Work closely with the global tax team to ensure integration with various business functions, bring awareness to the business and support new business initiatives

  2. Support end-to-end product launches and business expansion in the region, including business requirements definition, solution design, testing and post-implementation support

  3. Actively monitor developments of LatAm indirect policies, work with the internal policy team and external advisors supporting tax policy initiatives

  4. Analyze current and proposed tax policy changes, evaluate impacts, develop and execute plans accordingly

  5. Manage local indirect tax audits, including planning for audit readiness, working with direct tax team, international accounting team and outsource service providers to establish audit response procedures

  6. Work closely with local tax and finance teams and manage compliance outsource service providers, provide oversight for tax compliance across the entire region

  7. Work with the finance team to implement and improve end-to-end indirect tax process and procedures to mitigate risks

  8. Provide day-to-day operational guidance and address cross-functional finance and business teams' inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of working experience in related tax or audit field

    1. Bachelors degree in law, accounting, economics or related field

    2. Experience with regional Indirect Tax responsibilities for a multinational company

    3. Experience executing cross-functional projects is the key to the success of this position

    4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate indirect tax matters succinctly to management

    5. Hands-on, self-motivated and team-player personality

    6. Good analytical skills, flexible, creative and results oriented

    7. Enjoys and thrives working with and in a cross-functional team

    8. Some international travel is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Post-graduate degree in tax or related field

  2. Knowledge of any major ERP platform (Oracle/SAP) and indirect tax system (Vertex/Sabrix).
