We are currently seeking a world-class silicon scientist / architect to lead our Silicon & Architecture Research group. This group is responsible for evaluating and developing new core silicon technologies and architectures that can lead to significant improvements in processing capacity and reduced power consumption on the processors that we are developing for our AR & VR systems. This is a full-time position based in our Redmond office, WA, USA.
Own the roadmap to develop new circuit level silicon technologies to surpass the current state of the art for SoC processing power, power consumption and form factor.
Own the roadmap to develop new architectures to surpass the current state of the art for SoC processing power, power consumption and form factor.
Build and lead a team of work-class experts to execute on the above two roadmaps
Maintain a knowledge of the key industry and academic players in this space and build appropriate partnerships to execute on the above two roadmaps
Collaborate closely with our internal silicon execution, computer vision and optical scientist teams to deliver on the major improvements in processing power and processor power consumption needed for our AR & VR products.
International and domestic travel is required
10 + years of experience in the area of novel processor architectures and/or low power silicon circuits a deep knowledge of both. This should include:
7+ years of experience in mobile SoC design and architecture methodologies
7+ years of experience in custom SoC design especially it relates to integration of hardware IP blocks, on-chip buses, DRAM bandwidth and power constraints
Knowledge of the evolving silicon foundry technology and processing node roadmaps, and evolving low power device and circuit designs
10 + years of experience in leading small groups to develop and deliver novel compute solution
Experience in creating strategic partnerships with industry players and academic groups
Communication skills and demonstrated ability to cross multi-disciplinary boundaries to deliver system solutions.
