We're seeking a dynamic recruiter who brings a balance of creativity, focus, and determination to join in this mission by supporting our research recruiting efforts. As a PhD and postdoctoral recruiter, you will also be responsible for hiring world-class groups of people capable of furthering many of our research areas. We’re passionate about delivering an awesome candidate experience at each stage of the conversation by lending genuine insight into the company, mission and challenges. Your work will have a direct impact on the team, culture, and identity of Facebook. The position is based in Seattle, WA.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for PhD and postdoctoral candidates with a focus on strong hiring manager partnership and candidate advocacy

  2. Strategize different ways to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, events and sourcing campaigns

  3. Partner closely with other PhD recruiters to ensure smooth candidate transition and consistent candidate experience

  4. Find, engage and activate passive candidates

  5. Collaborate with client groups and hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and goals

  6. Drive offer process - including extending offers, closing candidates, and generating offer letters

  7. Facilitate interview and hiring discussions with interviewers and hiring managers

  8. Regularly track pipeline, priorities and performance data to share with internal stakeholders

  9. Act as a resource to PhD interns throughout their internship including on-boarding, performance evaluation, and conversion process

    1. Recommend and drive improvements that impact PhD pipeline areas and the recruiting organization

    2. Partner with Academic Relations team to leverage and build relationships resulting in candidate pipelines

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree with 3+ years of technical recruiting experience

  2. Ability to speak to our technology/industry

  3. Experience recruiting for software engineering and niche skill sets

  4. Experience recruiting PhDs and research talent

  5. Tech and industry knowledge with ability to understand relevant tech skills, research conferences, academic labs, and communities

  6. Ability to screen CVs to identify fit

  7. Sourcing experience with ability to dive into searches

  8. Consultative and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

  9. Ability to travel during peak recruiting cycles
