Summary:

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager leads a team of SOC operators to support Facebook’s 24x7 watch operations. You will lead, guide and direct daily SOC operations and participate in an on-call rotation to provide leadership support after hours and on weekends. In this role, you will also be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting Global Security Operations and Crisis Management initiatives, processes and best practices to support strategic goals and drive performance metrics, as well as monitoring events that have the potential to compromise the safety and security of Facebook’s personnel, offices, data centers, and corporate locations. You should have experience in providing support to business partners during business disruptions and managing the escalation and communication to both field and HQ leadership and leading the cross-organizational crisis management team in situations when the SOC activates its Incident Command capabilities.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead the team on a daily basis in support of all designated SOC tasks

  2. Manage individual and team performance to consistently meet performance standards

  3. Determine staffing requirements: guides recruiting, hiring, training, development, and retention of highly qualified team members

  4. Develop a deep understanding of operational risks and drive the response process in order to minimize the impact of these risks

  5. Influence and improve upon existing processes through innovation and operational change

  6. Develop and support strategic plans and projects to meet Global Security and SOC goals and objectives

  7. Provide information and tactical guidance to leadership during incidents

  8. Oversee training and exercises to ensure SOC team proficiency

  9. conduct after action reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices

  10. Regularly review standard operating procedures and protocols to ensure SOC continues to effectively meet operational requirements

  11. Routinely engage with cross functional teams to evaluate SOCs ability to meet stakeholder needs

  12. Evaluate existing technical capabilities and systems and identify opportunities for improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  2. Proven relevant work experience, preferably in an operations center environment

  3. Experience in leading a team

  4. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

  5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  6. Strong self-motivator able to execute tasks

  7. Strong inter-personal and networking skills

  8. Ability to work effectively in teams
