Facebook Measurement Industry Marketing Manager, Global Business Marketing in New York, New York

You can play a key part in leading the strategy and implementation of these programs on the global events and industry marketing team. As Facebook continues to grow, how we support the industry and the insights we share with external audiences is vital to the business. We are looking for a manager within our Global Events and Industry team to focus on industry relationships, event sponsorships, our speaking program and activations for our efforts related to measurement, insights advertising technology. This person will also play a critical role in designing the programming strategy for bringing our measurement and insights to life through industry collaborations and setting the tone for Facebook as a business to business leader in the marketplace. The successful candidate will manage the speakership and industry relations program for our measurement and insights practice, developing the strategy for participation with industry association, at industry events as well as internal opportunities. This role will require the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, leaders across various industry associations. In addition, it requires a strategic lens to prioritize opportunities, build a proactive speakership & industry plan and to ultimately communicate and activate our key messages through these important channels. You will be responsible for developing a global proactive and reactive industry plan. This includes creating a speaker program by identifying industry opportunities, building relationships industry organizations and efficiently using resources in order to maximize exposure at the most important opportunities. It also includes identifying and developing the speaker bench, including plans to grow the profiles of key team members within our organization. Finally, responsibilities include building an industry presence through sponsorships where appropriate (including sponsorship negotiation), activations and key relationships in order to communicate our key messages around measurement and insights around the world. Lastly, the successful candidate will work seamlessly with cross-functional partners from around the world. This position is full-time and is based in our Menlo Park Office or New York Office.

Required Skills:

  1. Proactive Industry Plan:
  2. Develop a proactive, prioritized plan that identifies key industry associations, speakership opportunities globally that will effectively and efficiently communicate and creatively activate the content for our measurement and insights practices.

  3. Operationalize & scale this plan via processes, best practices and cross-functional collaboration

  4. Manage external vendor for speaker placement, pitching and logistics

  5. Identify and negotiate sponsorships as needed, and with excellent judgement, that will help tell our measurement and insights story

  6. Identify, pitch and manage key activations at industry events

  7. Reactive Industry Plan: Develop a reactive plan to manage lower tier opportunities that is efficient and scalable

  8. Speaker Program:

  9. Create an internal speaker program that will elevate the profiles of key speakers as well as build our bench of speakers for the future

    1. Build cross-functional relationships with the speaker bench and broader organization to maintain a pulse on the industry and our messages from an internal perspective

    2. Manage speaking abstract database, create keynote outlines through partnership with broader Global Business Marketing team

    3. Be the industry expert in measurement and insights related opportunities, and identify tangential opportunities that will broaden the impact of measurement and insights messages

    4. Develop and maintain a database of competitive intelligence around measurement and insights industry presence at major events and tentpoles

    5. Develop strong relationships with industry associations in order to maintain a pulse on the industry

    6. Proactively foster, develop and maintain key industry relations and bodies relevant to the Marketing Science team (ARF, ESOMAR, MSI, and others) to drive thought leadership in support of GMS goals.

    7. Collaborates with event marketing peers on major industry events to ensure we ideate as one cohesive team

    8. Works cross functionally with communications, partner speaker team agency, and with executives who participate on relevant industry boards to ensure Facebook is represented as the strongest marketing platform in the world.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of industry marketing experience that demonstrates knowledge of relevant partners and their disciplines in the marketing research realm (e.g ARF, MSI, ESOMAR, etc)

  2. Understanding of the issues and topics to the advertising and marketing research industry and knowledge of key client challenges

  3. Experience with developing and producing industry programs, speakership programs, content marketing programs and event content through strategic positioning and messaging

  4. Organizational, process and project management skills

  5. Ability to work with all levels of stakeholders, and cross-functionally

  6. Experience managing an editorial calendar, pitching ideas and stories

  7. Ability to work and influence across and upwards without direct authority
