Facebook is seeking a Journalism Partnerships Manager, Media Partnerships to lead the function of the News Partnerships team that works with journalists and news-gathering. This person will develop, execute and maintain relationships with key journalists, serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders working on products for journalists and develop training programs to help journalists take advantage of Facebook as a platform for audience development, sourcing and innovative coverage of the news. A passion for the news industry, plus experience working with journalists and news-gathering on social platforms, is a key requirement. A strong sense of prioritization and focus, as well as exceptional communication and presentation skills, are a must. The Media Partnerships team is the face of Facebook to our external partners and get to work with some of the world’s most high-profile and exciting companies and people. This position is full-time, located in our New York office, and will report to the Director of News and Global Media Partnerships.
Manage strategy, implementation and optimization of Facebook’s strategic partnerships with journalists and content creators
Educate journalists on how best to utilize Facebook and Instagram to engage with their followers and cover the news
Collaborate with partners to develop innovative and high-impact social integrations, and drive operational management of partnership projects
Be an internal advocate within Facebook for partners, including with product teams
Work with relevant internal teams to ensure that Facebook is taking partner input into account in relevant product and policy decisions
Track, analyze and communicate quantitative metrics and trends as they relate to partners
7+ years of experience in News/Publishing and/or partner management
7+ years project management experience, and experience with leading and handling time-sensitive, cross-functional projects on deadline
2+ years of people management experience
Ability to suggest and build products/services that bring relevancy, reach and impact to the use of Facebook and Instagram
Understanding of Facebook and the impact it can make for the news media and journalists
Communication and presentation skills, and the ability to serve as a spokesperson for Facebook
Ability to think strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans
Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
Ability to learn in a changing environment
