Summary:

Facebook seeks a highly-motivated, detail-oriented team player to serve as Commercial Counsel to support its commercial transactions. You will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including entertainment partnerships, content licensing and production agreements, and other media transactions. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and general operations. Diligent and proactive, you have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work independently.

This is a full-time position located at our New York office.

Required Skills:

  1. Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for Facebook’s Global Business Development, Entertainment, Video and other Platform teams.

  2. Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners.

  3. Commercial transaction support for other departments as required.

  4. Administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.

  5. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar

  2. 3+ years of transactional legal experience at a global law firm and/or in-house at a media, internet or technology company

  3. Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements for scripted and unscripted audiovisual programming, including production services agreements, content license agreements and above-the-line talent agreements

  4. Experience with media-focused technology and entertainment businesses

  5. Experience negotiating strategic transactions

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience providing counseling to internet companies with video products and services offered to consumers

  2. Experience with social networking and platform integrations

  3. International legal experience
