Required Skills:

  1. Help build the web based version of WhatsApp in Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3

  2. Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from PMs, designers and other engineers

  3. Pro-actively enhance our web platform

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Ability to create delightful interfaces using Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3

  2. Understanding of patterns used for developing web applications

  3. 2+ years experience developing responsive web applications that work across multiple devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of the web technology stack (HTTP, WebSockets, cookies, asset loading / caching)

  2. Experience with React, Backbone, WebPack, Promises

  3. Experience with Sass and Compass

    1. Experience with cross-browser quirks

    2. Data-informed product development: analytics, A/B testing, etc.

    3. Experience using REST API’s

    4. Experience with version control systems
