Facebook Associate General Counsel, Commercial & Product in Mountain View, California

This position is a commercial and product role and will be responsible for developing and launching commercial messaging and other commercial efforts. You must have flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs. In addition, you must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, small but growing environment and work proactively with various teams, including the business, product management, engineering, finance, tax, and customer support teams. This is a full-time position based in WhatsApp’s offices in Mountain View, California and will require some travel to and work at Facebook’s offices in Menlo Park, California. The position will report to WhatsApp’s Associate General Counsel.
Support and negotiate partnership, commercial, and other transactions
Counsel on product development and regulatory issues related to commercial messaging and marketing
Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners
Collaborate with the business, product, engineering, finance, tax, and customer support teams
Support other areas as necessary
J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar.
8+ years of experience negotiating technology transactions, or product counseling experience related to global consumer protection, marketing, privacy, data security and/or intellectual property law
Domestic and international travel may be required
Experience with payments and financial regulatory issues
Analytical and problem solving skills as well as communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
