Facebook Public Policy Manager, Caribbean and Central America in Mexico City, Mexico

Facebook's Latin America Public Policy team is seeking a Public Policy Manager to help us lead our interaction with key policy makers in Caribbean and Central America through developing and executing a comprehensive engagement strategy. Candidates should have strong knowledge of Internet policy issues, such as privacy, security, infrastructure, intellectual property, tax, trade and telecommunications. They should also have excellent writing and analytical skills and share our vision of making the world more open and connected. This role is full-time and will be based in Mexico City.

Required Skills:

  1. Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues affecting Facebook in Caribbean and Central America

  2. Work in partnership with different Public Policy teams on the strategy for building relationships with policy makers, civil society and academics for a wide range of company initiatives

  3. Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings

  4. Advise Facebook teams on public policy matters in order to guide development of products, services and policies

  5. Work with political bodies, policymakers and non-governmental organizations on technology policy issues

  6. Represent Facebook in meetings with key stakeholders

  7. Collaborate and ensure consistency in approach to policy issues

  8. Build coalitions with other organizations to advance policy goals of Facebook.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of professional experience

  2. 5+ years of experience of public policy experience working with political systems and institutions as well as policy, politics and communications

  3. Experience with analytical and creative approach to policy issues, as well as cross functional team player

  4. Interest in technology and related policy issues

  5. Willingness to travel

  6. Passion for Facebook and its mission to make the world more open and connected

  7. Bachelor degree required, Master is preferred

  8. Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  9. Fully Bilingual English -Spanish
