Summary:
Facebook is seeking a Technical Program Manager with hardware product development experience. The Hardware Technical Program Manager will be leading development of products to support the Infrastructure Engineering organization whose responsibilities include the growth, management and 24x7 upkeep of the Facebook web site. This is a full-time position based in our main office in Menlo Park and will report to the Group Technical Program Manager.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage cross-functional site infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (Datacenter, Network, Hardware Systems, Infrastructure Software Engineering, Capacity Management).

  2. Develop and manage hardware product and solutions end-to-end, project plans and ensure on-time delivery.

  3. Provide hands on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.

  4. Engage in product management in collaboration with Engineering owners to define hardware product roadmaps.

  5. Perform risk assessment, risk mitigation and change management on projects.

  6. Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.

  7. Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.

  8. Interface with Engineering and business owners for project and product requirements and scope.

  9. Analyze infrastructure needs and produce hardware designs and prototypes to meet those needs.

    1. Work independently with minimal supervision.

    2. Provide engineering assessments and risk analysis for hardware designs.

    3. Manage and drive strategic vendor engagement and deliveries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.

  2. 2+ years’ experience supporting Hardware Engineering teams.

  3. 2+ years’ experience in Program Management and/or Product Management.

  4. Experience in hardware project life cycle management.

  5. Experience with managing projects related to systems hardware design.

  6. Experience in hardware systems interfaces and protocols, such as PCIE

  7. Knowledge of enterprise server systems, CPU (X86 and/or ARM), memory (DDR4), Flash and/or NVM

  8. Working knowledge of Project Management tools.

  9. Experience understanding application requirements and translating needs into roadmap and capacity plans.

  10. Organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment.

  11. Cross-functional leadership skills.

  12. Ability to manage from technical details to big picture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with data center architecture and deployment.

  2. Experience working with ODM’s and other vendors.

  3. Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience.

  4. Four or more years of Hardware Systems Design experience.

  5. Engineering degree
