Today, millions of businesses and people connect on Facebook. The mission of the Payments team is to enable anyone, anywhere to be able to pay and be paid with confidence. We are accomplishing this by making payments a core part of the Facebook experience. Facebook Payments is available internationally and supports 80+ payment methods (https://www.facebook.com/help/203680236341574) in 55+ currencies (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/concepts/payments/currencies/). We build large scale, complex systems and operate an infrastructure to enable payments on a global scale of billions of financial transactions per year. There are hundreds of potential use cases for payments across Facebook. We're investing more into building use cases with compelling consumer value. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead multi-disciplinary projects, manage the planning processes to develop the product roadmap, and drive the delivery of key technology initiatives. As a TPM, you directly influence the product definition with recommendations to improve the performance of the payment flow, scale our backend infrastructure across many payment products, and ship products to ensure a strong consumer, developer, and advertiser experience. Our team is seeking a person with a strong technical background, platform experience and a great passion for the industry. This is a full-time position based in Menlo Park, CA.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage cross-functional platform programs by working with development teams, business teams as well as external partners

  2. Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery

  3. Communicate status and big picture to the project team and management

  4. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases

  5. Perform risk management and change management on projects

  6. Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks

  7. Drive internal process improvements, remove gaps, across multiple teams and ensure teams are working on high impact projects that align with company mission and goals

  8. Interface with Engineering, Finance and Product teams for project requirements and scope

  9. Understand and be able to communicate well in regards to backend infrastructure

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

  2. 5+ years of tech industry experience and 5+ years of program management experience

  3. Communication, organization, management and people skills

  4. Be able to communicate and translate non-technical to technical (and vice versa) requirements and discussions with ease

  5. Be able to work cross-functionally with multiple partners in different time zones

  6. Be able to communicate and present to senior management

  7. Knowledge of software and hardware development processes

  8. Experience working with external technology vendors and partners

  9. Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities

  1. Mobile or start-up environment and technical management experience
