Summary:
As a sourcing manager, you will be responsible for managing commercial relationships with Facebook’s network hardware partners. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing and supply chain services for optical transceivers that will be deployed in Facebook’s worldwide data center and network footprint. This is a role that will be accountable to set sourcing strategy, develop a partner management plan, work closely with Facebook Network Engineering and execute with speed and agility to achieve all cost, quality and delivery goals.

Required Skills:

  1. Set equipment sourcing strategy, develop a supporting supplier management plan and execute to achieve performance metrics

  2. Lead the RFx process for all network equipment bids

  3. Develop and execute to a supplier management plan

  4. Manage supplier performance on a regular basis through the use of cost, quality and delivery metrics

  5. Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts

  6. Ensure the timely placement of purchase requisitions and orders

  7. Ensure supplier adherence to delivery schedules (manage, track, escalate and solve)

  8. Manage all supplier schedule exceptions and drive performance improvements

  9. Achieve best landed cost

    1. Ensure suppliers comply with NDA and contract standards

    2. Identify process improvement opportunities in order to drive better cost, quality and delivery performance

    3. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to drive end to end efficiencies

    4. Balance overall supply and demand and ensure long-term forecasts are developed and implemented

    5. Collect and report supplier performance through accurate collection of established performance metrics

    6. Measure and manage supplier improvement programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in technical or business related field of study

  2. 6+ years of relevant work related experience in supply chain

  3. Experience in supplier management

  4. Prior experience working in a networking technical environment

  5. Prior experience managing suppliers in global engagements

  6. Experience improving and managing supplier performance in production environments

  7. Interpersonal, and communication skills

  8. Ability to focus and handle multiple priorities in a changing environment

  9. Must be independent with proven ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  10. Organizational and time management skills

  11. Must be analytical

  12. Must have technical competence in: Optical Transmission Equipment, DWDM technologies, Short and Long Haul optical transmission technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Working knowledge of optical transceivers from optical transceiver manufacturers
