Facebook’s security team is seeking a highly talented and motivated Security Engineering Intern. With over a billion people using Facebook and more than fifty offices around the globe, a career here offers countless ways to make an impact in a fast growing organization. The Security team at Facebook protects the security and privacy of over a billion people, is responsible for monitoring internal tools and external threats against the company systems and infrastructure, and designs scalable security solutions. We make life hard for the bad guys. For this role the ideal candidates is passionate about building scalable security frameworks that help keep over a billion users safe. This position is located in Menlo Park, CA and will begin in Summer 2018.
Build Facebook-wide security frameworks and public-facing products that help keep billions of users and hundreds of companies safe
Learn about existing frameworks and internal tools to help design and implement new features
Code primarily using PHP, Python, and SQL
Conduct and design code reviews
Currently pursuing a BA/BS or Masters degree in CS, Security or similar degree
Ability to write robust, maintainable code (PHP preferred but not required)
Enthusiasm for the fight to ensure security and privacy on the Internet
Knowledge of basic security concepts a plus
