Facebook Public Policy Associate Manager, Community Engagement in Menlo Park, California

Facebook is looking for an Associate Manager to join a team that builds and maintains relationships with local and public policy communities (including local non-profits, business associations, advocacy organizations, community groups and interest groups). You also will work with cross-functional teams across Facebook to devise and execute an outreach strategy that advances our community engagement efforts. Candidates should demonstrate experience public policy, government affairs, campaign management, or issue advocacy and have a strong understanding of Bay Area policy.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage the complex ongoing flow of legislative/ product/policy proposals or briefings/program materials around a designated substantive issue, or manages similar complex projects.

  2. Serves as a key stakeholder and contributor on a team running major public policy initiatives or events, including planning initiatives or events.

  3. Ability to work with members of the policy team and other core cross-functional partners.

  4. Demonstrates expertise in a defined area of public policy and understands Facebook's products as well as mission.

  5. Ability to advise Facebook teams on public policy matters to lead development of products, services, and/or policies.

  6. Analyze source material or events while identifying significant impacts to Facebook.

  7. Participate in both internal meetings and external meetings in coordination with other team members.

  8. Maintain relationships with stakeholders within the public policy team and other cross- functional partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree

  2. 4+ years of experience in public policy, community relations, and event planning

  3. Experience in public speaking

  4. Demonstrated cross-functional work experience

  5. Experience managing community engagement budget

  6. Existing relationships with community groups, non-profits and legislative organizations
