Summary:

The Media Operations team develops solutions for public figures on Facebook and Instagram by creating scaled systems to address the issues impacting their experiences with the suite of Facebook products, and packaging these insights for the rest of the company.

Facebook is seeking someone to join the Product Delivery team within Media Operations to focus on News products. The Media Operations team is a rapid growth organization supporting a major initiative by Facebook to connect people with the public figures and media they care about. Our mission is to improve the media ecosystem on Facebook and Instagram by enhancing graph quality, creating exceptional support experiences for publishers, and delivering actionable product insights. This role will also work closely, as part of Facebook’s News team on, strategic news initiatives focused on some of the world’s most pressing issues, in combination with helping publishers achieve their goals on Facebook. This individual will also serve as the voice of publishers and journalists internally, working directly with Product Managers, Strategic Partner Managers, Data Analysts, Engineers, Community Operations and other partners to ensure an amazing experience. This is a full-time position located in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Become an expert in the support experience for news publishers and journalists on Facebook

  2. Develop and share deep expertise on news products

  3. Serve as the primary news point of contact for Media Operations, joining recurring News Product Team meetings and projects to represent the team and to establish and maintain expertise in Facebook product experiences for non-profit partners

  4. Discover, respond to, and support publishers on the site, enforcing our Terms of Use and troubleshooting quickly to resolve partner issues

  5. Listen to partners and partner managers with the ability to modify services and support to generate exceptional experiences

  6. Develop scaled solutions, specifically for news products, that address publishers' and journalists' Facebook experience, work flow inefficiencies, and product deficiencies

  7. Analyze partner interaction with our products, and communicate insights to Product Management, Engineering, Policy, Partnerships, and other partners within the company

  8. Drive product adoption and usage by supporting partner facing programs and effective product launch support

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA or BS Degree or higher

  2. 4+ years overall professional experience in online operations, consulting or account, partner, or project management

  3. Knowledge of online business models and Internet/consumer technology

  4. Understanding of how the social media landscape is changing

  5. Ability and experience working independently and a track record of taking initiative in uncertain, dynamic environments

  6. Resourceful, ability to learn about new technologies

  7. Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans

  8. Able to prioritize when juggling multiple responsibilities on behalf of multiple stakeholders

  9. Ability to analyze data to tell a story and make decisions and recommendations
