Summary:

Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA-style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships in universities, small and large businesses. The Product Launch Team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs and delivering them to market at scale. Facebook's Building 8 team is looking for designer to join the team with a background in digital product and brand design. You must be comfortable working across many mediums. You're a conceptual thinker who can bring your ideas to life in new and inspiring ways. You have a strong point of view on design. It shows in your writing, speaking and work. When you decide to make something, you see your vision from concept to launch without any hand-holding.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead branding and product design projects

  2. Collaborate with writers, engineers, strategists and product managers

  3. Concepting and prototyping for various projects

  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with a range of teams and disciplines to deliver high quality, engaging communications and experiences

  5. Lead and own initiatives that further company objectives

  6. Champion and deliver high quality creative

  7. Effectively lobby and win support for major new initiatives, features, and experiences

  8. Prioritize and focus projects accordingly

  9. Develop and maintain programs / roadmaps with multiple stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must have portfolio link on resume

  2. Portfolio features user-friendly product design, web design and branding work

  3. 7+ years designing for brand and product

  4. Experience developing product strategy, product lifecycles and product market fit.

  5. Prototyping skills (Sketch, Origami, After Effects, etc.)

  6. Track record of working in cross-functional teams

  7. Understanding of product design and project strategy

  8. Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment

  9. Can articulate design decisions

  10. History of self-initiated projects

  11. Understands basic content strategy
