Instagram has grown quickly to a global, diverse community of over 500 million people. Instagram's product marketing team manages the launches of new features and apps to our global community and helps tell Instagram's story.

Instagram is looking for someone to join the consumer marketing team as a product marketing intern. The ideal candidate will have an interest in marketing a global brand directly to consumers and introducing new Instagram features to a diverse community. If you're passionate about social media (especially Instagram) and versed in emerging trends, we'd love to meet you. Success in this role will rely on clear, concise communication and exceptional project management skills. This is a summer intern position based in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Support product marketing team in day-to-day functions and strategic planning

  2. Work with our marketing, PR and outreach teams to develop proposed launch plan and materials for an upcoming product

  3. Help coordinate and and communicate the rollout of new products and features both internally and externally

  4. Deepen our understanding of teen and college-aged demographics and trends

  5. Assess the social app landscape with an eye toward key marketing opportunities

  6. Synthesize and surface learnings to broader marketing team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Current undergrad or graduate student

  2. Passionate daily user of Instagram and other social apps

  3. Strong background in consumer marketing

    1. Sharp eye for product experience and consumer needs, particularly teen and college trends

    2. Self-directed with an interdisciplinary approach to understanding and solving problems

    3. Exceptional project management, communication and writing skills

    4. Flexible and comfortable working in a cross-functional capacity within a fast-paced, often ambiguous, start-up environment

    5. A fast learner with the ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levels

    6. Experience working in technology, startups, and consumer mobile app space is helpful
