Facebook Product Design Specialist, Intern in Menlo Park, California

Summary:
Join a team of designers who are passionate about creating a cutting edge VR experience and establishing Oculus as an industry leader. As a Product Design Specialist, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from conceptualizing the next generation of the VR platform (PC & Mobile) to designing incremental features. You will be expected to use your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, including your expertise in Unity. This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park.

Required Skills:

  1. Design, research, prototype, and implement features for incremental changes as well as future iterations of the product

  2. Synthesize broad, ambiguous business and accomplish them through design

  3. Design flows and visuals and individually contribute to the product and feature set

  4. Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product

  5. Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders

  6. Step back and help build product strategy – thinking beyond just incremental features

  7. Pursuing a BA/BS degree or equivalent in a design related field or pursuing a MA/MS degree or equivalent in a design related field

  8. Graduation dates of Fall 2017, or anytime in: 2018 or 2019

  9. You must have a portfolio link

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A portfolio of work built in Unity, of which you can talk through the design and implementation process

  2. At least one VR app that you can talk through the design and implementation process

  3. Proficiency in Unity and C#

  4. Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments

  5. A passion for VR and new, emerging technologies

  6. Game development experience a plus

  7. Unreal Engine experience a plus

  8. Experience in Maya and 3DS Max Cinema 4D a plus
