Facebook Packaging Technical Program Manager in Menlo Park, California

As a Packaging Technical Program Manager at Oculus, you will lead complex, multidisciplinary packaging programs through the product development process from concept to mass production. This includes establishing requirements with internal and external customers, managing program schedules, identifying risks and associated mitigation plans, and clearly communicating to program stakeholders. We look for program managers who are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead multiple projects throughout the packaging development process to deliver retail, ecommerce, and secondary packaging on brand, on time, and on budget

  2. Develop program schedules based on the product requirements, technical challenges, lead-times, and business needs

  3. Manage communication within and between packaging, hardware, ID, legal, compliance, marketing, retail, finance, customer support, fulfillment, and vendor teams

  4. Work with teams to set milestones, communicate program statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks

  5. Work with program leaders to develop best practices and production processes in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  6. Coordinate with cross functional teams to align on deliverables and specifications such as design, artwork, copy, localization, and reliability

  7. Ensure program documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review

  8. Identify problems in advance and drive creative solutions to fix them

  9. Contribute to resource planning to ensure program success

    1. Organize prototyping and testing with hardware engineering teams and contract manufacturers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Engineering field or equivalent experience

  2. At least 3 years experience as a program manager working in packaging for high volume consumer electronics products

  3. Understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing methods, and test requirements

  4. Communication and planning skills

  5. Familiarity with program and issue tracking and version control software

  6. Proven ability to operate across multiple teams and projects

  7. Up to 30% travel (20% international, 10% domestic)
