Facebook seeks an experienced Music Data Analyst to develop and activate insights about content on digital platforms. The analyst will develop and implement tools for forecasting and tracking music partnerships and will report on trends and performance to business development, product, media partnerships, operations, legal, and finance teams. The position is full-time and based in our main office in Menlo Park.
Develop the music partnerships research and measurement strategy and manage prioritization of initiatives across internal and external stakeholders
Provide deep insights about the music ecosystem and partners to executives
Identify trends and actionable insights to drive strategic partnerships and industry communications
Partner with music industry analysts to develop shared insights
Develop data pipelines and dashboards
Synthesize a wide variety of inputs from different stakeholders into coherent narratives and action plans
Develop a robust internal network of coworkers working on a variety of related initiatives and become an internal expert about content on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms
Be an internal advocate with cross-functional teams — including product, product marketing, legal, engineering, and communications — for partners and industry priorities
BA or BS Degree
6+ years experience in data analytics roles, including experience analyzing music trends, performance, and consumption for a global organization
Skills using SQL, as well as other analytics tools such as Tableau, R, Microstrategy, Google Analytics, Omniture, or Excel
Understanding of Facebook products, Facebook the company, and social media
Ability to build relationships and motivate individuals at all levels of an organization
Analytical skills with ability to interpret and summarize a program's performance and develop experiments
Communication and presentation skills, and the ability to clarify and summarize issues
Ability to define, develop and lead programs in a changing environment
Extensive knowledge of digital business models and technology -- in particular, digital music
Experience using third-party music data sources
Proven track record of measuring and developing insights about music for global organizations
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
