Facebook is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer responsible for developing and implementing world class manufacturing and quality processes for networking hardware products. This is a full time position and reports to the Manager of Manufacturing and Quality Engineering as part of the Sourcing and Operations Engineering team and is based at our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop and implement manufacturing processes for Facebook open network hardware technologies by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly and testing

  2. Ensure product and process quality targets are met by designing test methods, establishing standards and driving continuous improvement projects with contract manufacturers

  3. Early engagement with Facebook Engineering teams to implement robust DFx requirements and ensure products meet cycle-time, cost, quality and yield targets

  4. Perform regular audits of contract manufacturer facilities

  5. Assist supply chain and hardware teams in vendor selection

  6. Create and maintain all production process and quality documentation

  7. Conduct First Article and Source Inspections reviews on network hardware components and assemblies

  8. Create BOMs, engineering change notifications, and manufacturing process changes through product lifecycle management tools

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field of study

    1. 5+ years experience in manufacturing and test for networking products including New Product Introduction and Sustaining Engineering

    2. Working knowledge of optical Transceiver design and manufacturing processes

    3. Understanding of Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE/100GbE), Copper and Optical interconnects

    4. Knowledge of quality methodologies and tools are required.

    5. Ability to perform design of experiment, root cause analysis, and resolve problems on a conceptual and troubleshooting level.

    6. Experience working with and managing off shore contract manufacturers

    7. Communication skills

    8. Experience working in a dynamic startup environment

    9. 10% travel may be required
