Facebook Manager, Operations Program Management - Network Tooling in Menlo Park, California

This is a people manager opportunity within the Infrastructure Services and Operational Support (ISOS) team, Edge and Network Services Support. The ISOS team consists of Program Managers who design, implement and continuously evolve the existing Operational Practices of Facebook’s data centers and networks. This team builds processes and tools to allow Facebook to scale. This role will include direct management of a team of program managers who oversee the buildout of tooling to scale across various asset lifecycle activities within the data center and network spaces from design to decommissioning. This position will be located in Menlo Park, CA with national and international travel required.

Required Skills:

  1. Work with your team to align network tooling programs to large strategic tooling objectives and big bets and ensure they understand the big picture and goals 

  2. Empower your team to work with the various engineering teams in a matrix organization to design and develop scalable solutions that meet the goals and objectives of our network connectivity teams 

  3. Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.

  4. Responsible for people management of a team of 5-6, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports.

  5. Focus on growing and building a strong, productive, and satisfied team

  6. Perform risk management and change management on projects.

  7. Empower your team to build tooling around end-to-end business processes currently used and identify where and how tooling solutions will aid with streamlining and scaling the process–optimization is key 

  8. Manage the resource allocation and team optimization for effective service delivery

  9. Manage expectations of all interested parties: define clear roadmaps with key deliverables and milestone dates, provide frequent program updates, and identify and communicate risks and adjustments to the overall program 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field 

  2. 8+ years of work experience in Network-centric product management: building scalable platforms, driving enterprise tooling initiatives, and translating strategic initiatives into software product roadmaps

  3. 10+ years managing a team of employees. Experience building a successful team through continual coaching and career growth opportunities

  4. Ability to collaborate with different individuals across the organization, within other geographies, and be willing to "roll-up the sleeves" in order to accomplish all necessary tasks 

  5. Action-orientated with the ability to get things done and overcome obstacles

  6. Experience understanding application requirements and translating needs into implementation plans

  7. Systems development and deployment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in computer science

  2. Associate level network certifications (CCNA or JNCIA) or higher

  3. Experience with Software Defined Network(SDN)

  4. Experience with robotics, machine learning, and computer vision

  5. Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience

  6. Familiarity with the scrum methodology
