Facebook operates one of the largest and fastest growing Content Delivery Networks in the world. The Edge Network team is responsible for supporting the egress for all products, including Facebook Newsfeed, Live, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and more. We are looking for the right person to lead a global team of talented network professionals to engage with ISP partners to identify and solve a wide array of challenges in both developed and emerging markets. Our goal is to enable massive scalability, reliable servicing, and fantastic performance, all of which are critical to put video at the heart of all our apps and services. The right leader for this role will be technical, collaborative, and passionate about rapidly building a network at scale. The capacity demands of our network are increasing exponentially, and a leader in this space must be able to identify future challenges, adapt the team's skillset and direction, and champion automation efforts to increase the team's productivity. Most of all, the right leader must be comfortable making big bets which may seem crazy, but if successful change everything. The global network delivery team is responsible for managing delivery for all network elements that support Facebook's egress to people around the world. The Manager, Network Delivery will act as the primary owner for delivering capacity for the Facebook Edge Network. This includes building the right team to drive internal and external partners to deliver the overall capacity and availability needed to support Facebook's growing egress demand. This position is full-time and based in our headquarters in Menlo Park and will report to the Director of Edge Network and CDN.

Required Skills:

  1. Engages with network providers and ISPs to coordinate delivery of network elements such as IP services, peering, colocation, and caching servers.

  2. Manages a portfolio of supplier contracts for all geographic regions. Ownership includes executing new capacity orders, upgrades, changes, and decommissions.

  3. Manages the performance of contracts, tracking and ensuring compliance of suppliers within the terms and conditions of the contract, renegotiates contract terms as needed, and manages quarterly business reviews to drive excellent partner performance.

  4. Works closely with engineering, planning, sourcing & interconnection teams to generate RFP/RFQs for deployment work.

  5. Responsible for hiring, managing, and continuous development of a highly technical global team of 5-10 direct reports coordinating the growth of the Facebook Edge Network by driving internal and external teams.

  6. Evaluate Facebook egress goals from capacity, reliability, and performance perspectives. Translate into requirements and drive roadmaps with internal and external partners around peering and caching.

  7. Identify opportunities and requirements for automation that improve delivery times and employee efficiency

  8. Provide analysis and planning support to the infrastructure, data analytics and product teams to enable more efficient ISP partner engagements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 1+ years of experience building, developing, and managing network teams

  2. 4+ years of experience in network interconnection and peering delivery

  3. 5+ years of sourcing or carrier relations experience in network related products and services.

  4. Understanding of internet infrastructure fundamentals related to peering and content delivery networks

  5. Business and technical knowledge of networking, particularly in peering and transit

  6. Analytical and data-driven approach to negotiations with network partners

  7. BA/BS or equivalent in technical or business related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

  8. Willing to travel up to 25%
