Facebook designs, builds, leases, and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Locating, developing, and managing this data center infrastructure the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility, and capital and operational cost efficiency. Facebook is seeking an experienced people manager to join the Data Center Site Selection team, manage a team of real estate and development dealmakers, and help manage our rapidly scaling leased and owned data center portfolio.  This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Build and lead the global Data Center Site Selection team to sustain excellence while delivering flexible, efficient capacity solutions to support the growing business

  2. Manage team of 5+ real estate site selection professionals, including some remote team members

  3. Empower team to develop and execute on leased and owned data center location strategies and fulfill their leadership roles as site selection experts and real estate professionals

  4. Partner with internal teams to support long range capacity planning, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes by collaborating with senior leaders within the Data Center Strategy and Development as well as other cross-functional teams

  5. Provide leadership to effectively collaborate with and influence teams that connect with Site Selection, including program management, economic development, energy, network, policy, legal, construction, design, and other partner teams

  6. Identify and capitalize on opportunities to standardize workflows across many concurrent site selection efforts, including portfolio metrics and tracking mechanisms

  7. Communicate program strategies and updates to senior leadership and internal partners and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline

  2. 10+ years professional experience in a leadership role in real estate site selection and development of large scale or mission critical capital projects

  3. 3+ years experience in management, team building, and leadership development

  4. Experience leading negotiations

  5. Ability to engage, influence, and lead senior stakeholders across multiple projects

  6. Experience problem solving, thinking strategically, and executing tactically

  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on work environment

  8. Communication skills, including with executive communications and internal and external partners

  9. Ability to drive decision-making in ambiguous environments

  10. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (25% to 50%+ at times)

  11. Familiar with Excel and PowerPoint and/or Keynote

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced technical degree, law degree, or MBA

  2. Track record of successfully delivering on large, complex projects
