This individual will be a strategic member of the FCS (Facilities, Culinary and Security) team, focusing on helping FSC leadership and wider team better convey a common narrative around team’s initiatives, culture and mission for Facebook employees. Reporting into the FCS Internal Communications Lead, the successful candidate will help develop and execute the FCS Internal Communications strategy. Partnering with the various teams across the company and within the organization to understand upcoming initiatives and develop internal communication plans that engage employees and generate meaningful conversations. In addition to inward facing announcements, this position will partner with other teams in the company for external announcements around campus development and related issues. Successful candidates will have extensive experience in writing and executing proactive communications plans; project managing multi-dimensional initiatives; experience in innovative modes of story-telling; building and fostering relationships across business functions and across geographic locations; and developing creative, innovative programming around complex, multi-dimensional topics. Candidates should be excellent writers, strategic and creative thinkers, and skilled at managing relationships with senior corporate leadership. Strong experience in internal communications, executive content development and corporate strategic communication desired. The position is full-time and is located at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
Building partnerships with internal stakeholders and corporate communication teams to develop internal communications in advance of major and minor organizational initiatives and announcements
Developing and driving proactive strategic communication plan and campaigns for various FCS programs
Content development including writing, copy-editing to drive awareness and advocacy for FCS leadership
Thinking outside of the box to connect employees to the organization’s mission and values
Provide strategic input on messaging, positioning, and influence stakeholders as needed to ensure communications provide context, clarity, and are aligned with our desired tone
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Communications, English or related field
Post-graduate or professional degree
Experience communicating to a broad employee population of technologists and engineers
Writing for a global audience with multiple types of audiences and channels
Experience managing projects simultaneously
Experience working autonomously and collaboratively on a team and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
8+ years professional experience, corporate or nonprofit mission-driven communications experience
Experience in branding and campaigns
Experience in the internet technology industry
