Facebook's global network team is looking for an Interconnection Support Engineer to join the Infrastructure team to be a part of that journey. This team is responsible for building and supporting one of the world’s largest and most complex networks. In this role you will have a unique opportunity to work with partner networks around the globe to enable the explosive growth across the entire portfolio of products including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and more. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Facebook, and enjoy working with ISPs & Internal teams to provide comprehensive solutions for managing traffic.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead Planning efforts with ISPs for interconnection and caching projects including building long term capacity plans.

  2. Provide analysis and detailed planning support to the Infrastructure program, using data analytics, and working with the product teams. In this role, you will enable in-depth understanding of partner ISP engagement needs.

  3. Evaluate platform program goals from capacity, reliability, and performance perspectives, and translate these into requirements and drive roadmaps with partner ISPs.

  4. Provide Support to Interconnection Management support post contract execution on execution workflow. Efforts may include, but not limited to: Order Entry, Implementation of Peering Connections & Caching Appliances, Implement Capacity Augments.

  5. Provide Support to partner ISPs on Deployment and Configuration related to capacity turn-ups.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Internet architecture, in particular internet service provider operating models.

  2. Experience with IP networking for Inter-connections, including BGP sessions with Edge routers.

  3. Experience with CDN deployment, particularly with network and Edge equipment.

  4. Experience in evaluating and implement peering with internet service providers, public and private.

  5. Experience installing and configuring rack servers and switches inside a data center.

  6. Experience installing operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and Hypervisors.

  7. Experience with BI/Visualization Tools such as Tableau, Looker and ability to write SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.

  8. Experience crafting business-oriented KPI’s & analyses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of optical networking configurations.

  2. Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows system administration principles.

  3. Knowledge about server architecture and some experience doing server troubleshooting of operational incidents.
