Facebook Instructional Designer, Global Sales Learning in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Facebook is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join the Global Sales Learning team. This position will partner with our GSL Program Management team and our regional GSL Sales Learning Leaders to assess, define and develop learning solutions to address specific learning needs across the global sales organization. This Instructional Designer will also partner with various cross functional teams to ensure that our learning solutions are informed and aligned with business needs from Product Marketing and other critical Global Marketing Solutions teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Facebook and/or the digital media industry, extensive expertise in instructional design, including production of scalable learning solutions, a high degree of creativity and experience in learning strategy development, problem solving and project management, as well as passion for driving the success of our sales force and of advertisers on Facebook. This position is full-time based in either our Menlo Park or Seattle offices.

Required Skills:

  1. Design and develop instructional material for our global sales teams including all creative assets (motion graphics, etc.)

  2. Independently develop entry- and advanced-level courses for internal audiences

  3. Conduct content “hack” sessions and lead discussions around how to identify learning objectives and which learning modalities are most appropriate

  4. Establish and implement an instructional design methodology for both instructor-led content and self-paced, digital content which delivers a blended and “right-sized” experience for audiences

  5. Leverage Facebook learning technology such as LEARN, Groups, Live, Oculus and the MPK studio to create bite-sized learning content which is measurable and cutting-edge

  6. Build relationships within L&D, Blueprint, GSL and other cross-functional business partners, globally, to collaborate on skill gaps and learning priorities

  7. Develop and manage a network of vendors and contractors who can help scale rapidly

  8. Promote GSL offered programs and content through the creation of creative campaigns including posters & snack-sized video modules served up as ads to audiences

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of professional instructional design experience

  2. Experience using rapid development e-Learning tools (such as Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia)

  3. Experience in developing online and blended learning solutions - incorporating graphics, audio, video, and animation

  4. Ability to demonstrate effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.

  5. Experience using standard publishing tools (Office and Adobe products)

  6. Experience in virtual (instructor led, web-based) classroom course development and delivery

  7. Experience working with an LMS and SCORM requirements

  8. Experience with video production

  9. Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and drive initiatives in a cross-functional environment

  10. Experience in project management, specifically with product training

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Sales background as context for understanding specific sales needs and appropriate learning experiences

  2. Experience with Facebook’s LMS platform, LEARN

  3. Experience with design software which decreases build time (such as Piktochart, Canva, AfterEffects)

  4. Experience with video production including scriptwriting, production, casting and post production/editing

  5. Experience in related fields – usability and experience design, information design, communications and new technologies

  6. Experience with Facebook’s family of products and services

  7. Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
