Facebook is seeking a Hardware Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our Sourcing and Operations Engineering team. Our servers and datacenters are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. The intern will be work with Manufacturing Quality and Product Engineers who are responsible for developing and implementing world class manufacturing and quality processes for Facebook compute, storage and networking hardware. This position is located in our Menlo Park office.
Interface with hardware, validation, and software engineers to understand system architecture.
Set requirements and drive manufacturing partners to build, test, and deliver quality hardware.
Ability to generate yields calculations, predictive models, process capability studies.
Develop quality and reliability metrics, test methodologies, and assembly processes.
Help to create electrical and/or mechanical fixtures to assist the factories in building components and assembly.
Develop and publish yield reports and communicate findings to team members.
Diagnose and root cause component failures.
Help create a HW lab and support diagnosis and root cause of component failures
Pursuing a BS or MS in electrical, mechanical, computer or industrial engineering
Familiar with with Supply Chain and Manufacturing processes
Background in product and process quality.
Understanding of statistics, distributions, hypothesis testing, regressions statistical process control, process capability analysis.
Dashboard display software like tableau Strong trouble shooting and analytic skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience working with linux and object oriented programming is a strong plus.
Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the United States in 2017.
