Summary:
Facebook seeks an Executive Communications Manager and speechwriter to support key leaders at the company.

The ideal candidate will have a speechwriting or journalism background and a diverse portfolio of written material that shows an ability to explain a wide variety of complex and nuanced topics in simple, elegant prose. A creative streak and an ability to connect different concepts and help shape a narrative is crucial.

This individual excels at working collaboratively with high-level executives and colleagues alike and consistently delivers high-quality work even under severe time constraints. Experience supporting leaders in government or the private sector is essential.

This position is located in Menlo Park, California.

Required Skills:

  1. Work cross-functionally with Corporate, Internal, International, Monetization, Product, Platform, and Policy and Communications teams to outline and develop impactful speeches, scripts, talking points and other written materials for various executives and spokespeople

  2. Research and package content from internal and external resources to develop insightful and engaging corporate narratives

  3. Help develop a social media strategy in support of key corporate communications priorities

  4. Partner with Creative Services team to help develop complementary visuals and videos for external and internal use

  5. Help executives assimilate content and fine-tune delivery

  6. Identify and vet prospective venues for appearances that augment or otherwise complement communication programs and initiatives

  7. Work with communication teams to identify opportunities to promote and distribute appearances and related materials to increase visibility and impact

  8. Repackage materials as needed to ensure content and concepts extends into other communication efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum bachelors degree in Communications, English or related field

    1. 5+ years or speechwriting or journalism experience
