Facebook Data Center Environmental Coordinator in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Facebook is seeking an environmental specialist to coordinate and track activities related to environmental due diligence and compliance for global data centers. Environmental technical experience as well as communication, organizational and program management skills.   This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park headquarters.

Required Skills:

  1. Coordinate and track environmental due diligence activities across multiple ongoing development efforts, such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, water, and biological and cultural resource evaluations

  2. Develop metrics and tools to establish and track Key Performance Indicators for environmental compliance and best management practices

  3. Assess, summarize and track compliance of environmental goals and obligations for pre-construction, construction, and operational activities

  4. Provide input to Section 404 permitting, Section 106 consultation, and environmental impact studies

  5. Provide environmental expertise to diverse internal teams and coordinate with other teams about relevant issues and requirements, including construction, operations, sustainability, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams

  6. Develop training and educational tools regarding environmental goals, compliance and awareness

  7. Organize, review and evaluate environmental monitoring data (i.e., air emissions and water)

  8. Create and maintain budget and schedule for environmental programmatic activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years professional experience in environmental science, engineering, planning, or other related field

  2. Professional experience in environmental due diligence and pre-development efforts

  3. Experience with data management software, such as Excel

  4. Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders

  5. Able to execute and track tasks independently

  6. Ability to work in teams, and establish and maintain cross-functional relationships

  7. Ability to work with highly confidential information

  8. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 25%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or other related field

  2. Experience with GIS software
