Facebook Consumer Communications Manager, Cultural & Editorial Moments in Menlo Park, California

Facebook is looking for an experienced Consumer Communications Manager to design proactive public relations campaigns around celebrating everything from puppies and parents to National Popsicle Day. The successful candidate is creative, works quickly, and isn't afraid of a policy conversation. They have an open mind, but thinks critically and can identify potential risks and opportunities associated with editorial decisions (all while creating nuanced messaging to manage either possibility). An ability to work cross-functionally is also essential, as this person will work closely with their product and marketing teams to amplify company-wide product launches. Strategic and resourceful communicators able to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously will be most successful in this role.

This is a full-time position and based in Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY.

Required Skills:

  1. Partner with cross-functional teams across the company particularly with product communications, product marketing and brand marketing

  2. Proactively drive positive press coverage in consumer print/online, multicultural and broadcast media

  3. Conceptualize and execute creative consumer PR and marketing campaigns with media and other partners

  4. Organize press briefings, media sessions and events, often times with little oversight or guidance

  5. Prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree required in Communications, English, or relevant major

  2. 6+ years of relevant professional experience at a PR agency or in-house, at a consumer goods or services company

  3. Experience in media relations, has existing relationships with reporters across publications

  4. Experience in project management and leading communication campaigns
