Facebook Computer Vision Intern in Menlo Park, California
Great virtual reality technology depends on advances in computer vision and machine learning. As an inside-out tracking intern, you will be involved in developing technologies for positioning a device within an environment and understanding and mapping the environment around the device. Technologies are developed to work in realtime within the compute and power envelope of a fully mobile device. The team covers a broad range of disciplines within Computer Vision, Robotics, and Applied Mathematics. The ideal candidate is pursuing a Undergrad or Masters in computer vision, machine learning, or graphics and is passionate about enhancing the user experience in virtual reality.
Our internships are twelve (12) weeks. We have various start dates throughout the year.
Participate in cutting edge Computer Vision research within areas such as SLAM, Structure from Motion, Sensor Fusion, Optimization, and 3D reconstruction.
Develop algorithms and software that will be part of mass-market shipping consumer products.
Cross-functional interaction with hardware, automation and product design teams at Oculus.
Pursuing an undergrad or masters in the field of computer vision or related area
Must be currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship
Experience with systems building in C++
Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
High levels of creativity and quick problem solving capabilities
Proven track record of achieving significant results
- Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2017
Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, or coding competitions
Knowledge in computer vision, image processing, computational geometry, robotics, SLAM, tracking, or sensor fusion.
